While working as a timeshare sales representative at Westgate Resorts, I identified opportunities to enhance the standard sales script provided during my 30-day training. Rather than following a rigid, generic pitch, I customized my approach by shifting from a salesperson mindset to a customer-centric perspective. By personalizing my sales techniques, engaging in meaningful conversations, and tailoring my presentations to each client’s interests, I increased my sales performance beyond the company’s 1-out-of-10 closing standard. Additionally, I explored alternative marketing strategies, including listing vacation packages on Facebook Marketplace, and took the initiative to mentor and train new and struggling sales representatives.
